Hands and probabilities

We should never forget that probabilities have shown that only 3 out of ten times we will receive cards that may fall under the categories 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. From this information we could imply that the other 7 times we will receive “junk” cards.

For this reason we do not recommend playing the last 3 categories when we are located in an early position, since our opponents have more chances of having better cards than we do.

If we take into consideration the information above, we could summarize by saying that if we are located in an early position on the poker table we should not play unless we hold a great hand.

Find bellow a guide to what to play and when:

  • If sitting in an early position play only Category 1
  • If in an intermediate position – categories 1 and 2
  • If in late positions you could play any category….but avoid playing junk cards
